A Summer Wedding at The Barns at Redcoats: Sarah and Andy

There’s something special about being asked to create the flowers for a wedding at a venue you know well. In July 2022, we had the pleasure of doing exactly that for Sarah and Andy at The Barns at Redcoats, near Hitchin.

The venue

The Barns at Redcoats are the original farm buildings of The Farmhouse at Redcoats, set in the Hertfordshire countryside. The restored barns combine historic character with stylish design, which makes them a beautiful setting for a wedding. As a preferred supplier at Redcoats, we know the spaces well, and that means we can design flowers that suit the rooms, the light and the layout of the day.

The flowers

Summer is a wonderful time for wedding flowers, and for Sarah and Andy we designed with the season in mind: fresh, natural and full of life, to sit comfortably alongside the character of the barn. Rather than flowers that compete with the building, the aim was to complement it, so that the venue and the florals feel part of the same picture.

Working at Redcoats

A barn is a lovely space to design for, because the beams, the brick and the open interiors give flowers a strong backdrop. Knowing the venue and its team means everything runs smoothly on the day, from delivery and set-up through to the finishing touches, so the couple can simply enjoy their wedding.
